Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Filmed in San Francisco today!

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is the sequal to Rise of the Planet of the Apes movie (2011) starring James Franco, where the story took us back to the entire beginning of these fictional movies that originally started already in 1968 and created Planet of the Apes franchise. But, let's get to the point, here are some fresh pictures from Stockton street in San Francisco, California:

These pictures were taken in the morning on Saturday July 27th. But is there any connection with the video game world?

Well, this time, there is no direct connection with  the new recent movie versions of Plante of the Apes franchise. However, there is a video game from the Planet of the Apes world, based on the very first movie from 1968. Poor quality killed the video game and there were no direct fans for this release.

Movie Arcade 101's Top 3 'can't wait to see on the big screen' Movies based on Video Games

The title says it all.

Number 3:

God of War is Sony PlayStation's flagship video game, which means that players are unable to play this video game on any other console than PlayStation. Since, I am team Xbox this movie is on the third position. As this fan made poster suggests Tom Hardy would play the role of Kratos - the main character in God of War video games. The upcoming movie is being created by Universal Studios and is being writen by the duo Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan who are behind Saw movies. However, there has been no public updates since last year, so let's hope that this movie will come out soon!

Number 2:

Tetris is a video game created in 1984 and is one of the video games that were purely based on logical thinking regarding shapes and the correct assembly of those given shapes. There have been some fan made trailers for the movie like this one from 2008 - click here. But it was a horrible try. However. in 2012 after everyones favourite board game Battleships got a movie, fans began to demand also a Tetris movie and then there was this another fan made trailer - click here. Cannot wait to see a proper blockbuster version on a big screen, thou what would the plot be?

Number 1:

The story of Desmond Miles and Ezio Auditore is one of the best told stories in video games ever written. I chose a fan poster that best describes the first Assasin's Creed video games

"Nothing is true, everything is permitted." Altair

..and not any official or more update one, since the last word around the block is that release date is set for 2015, and it is rumored that Michael Fassbender, whom amazingly portrayes young Magneto in recent Xmen movies, should play Desmond Miles.

C'mon New Regency and Ubisoft, go and shoot the movie!!!

Tom Clancy's Video Games are coming to the Big Screen! Aaand Twice!

Ubisoft is pushing its video games into cinemas as pregnant woman pushes baby while in labor. The upcoming years are going to be full of stealth action, shooting, explosions, national conspiracies, and Sam Fisher. Two sub-franchises from Tom Clancy series of video games already received green light, big names and fruitful amount of fans and are coming in 2014-2015. The word is about Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon.

Let's look at Sam Fisher first. The recent word around the block is that Batman's strongest villain - Bane a.k.a Tom Hardy will be playing Sam Fisher, the main character in Splinter Cell series.

"Tom Hardy is currently one of the biggest talents in the film industry, and he has a phenomenal ability to take on complex and varied roles with his broad range of acting skills," said Jean-Julien Baronnet, CEO of Ubisoft Motion Pictures.

Players in the video game make a strong connection with Sam because it is the character they control, it is the character they kill 'bad guys' with, so let’s hope Tom Hardy can deliver persuasive performance. The writer is, well, lets say talented - Eric Singer and the director's debut hat is on Basil Iwanyk's head. So far the release date is TBA 2014, but I see it in 2015 at earliest. There have been few YouTube movie experiments, and the one by Warialasky is the most entertaining:

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon movie

In comparison with Splinter Cell series that has 7 video games releases, Ghost Recon is a little ahead with 13 video game releases so far. But Ghost Recon is also a little ahead when it comes to professional film representation. Back in 2012, Ridley Scott helped Ubisoft produce a short movie called Ghost Recon Alpha as a marketing strategy to raise sales of their new video game release. I think it worked, and the short film is actually high quality material, have a look:

But, Ubisoft aims much higher. They want a full-length feature movie from Ghost Recon video game series. And they are sure picking their directors very, but very carefully and picked Michael Bay, whom is just finishing his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. It will be Bay's first time to make a video game based movie. Ghost Recon fits perfectly into Bay's movie 'type'. Maybe he will get Megan Fox with him :-) But seriously, the movie is at the moment picking up screenwriter and is assumed to be released in 2015, but again, I would add at least one more year.

So which one are you excited more about?
